Upon your arrival in Sri Lanka, our tour guide will welcome you at the airport, marking the beginning of your 7-day honeymoon adventure. On the first day, we will travel to Kandy, where you will check in at your hotel. En route to Kandy, we will stop at the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage.
Here, you’ll have the chance to witness Sri Lanka’s cherished wildlife treasure, the Sri Lankan elephant. As you may be fatigued from your journey, we will only visit the orphanage today. Following our time at the orphanage, you will be driven directly to your hotel.
Arrival : Our representative will meet you at Bandaranaike International Airport upon arrival.
Transfer :Drive to Kandy and we will stop at the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage.
Accommodation :Check into your hotel for a relaxing night.
On the second day, you will explore the enchanting city of Kandy. After breakfast, our vehicle will pick you up from your hotel. The first stop will be the Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa), one of Sri Lanka’s most popular tourist destinations and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Next, we will stroll around Kandy Lake, offering a chance to unwind. Following this, we will visit the Bahirawakanda Temple, renowned for its massive Buddha statue located on Bahirawakanda hill. Afterward, we’ll head to the Kandy viewpoint, which offers stunning panoramic views of the city.
Next, we’ll explore the local market, where you can shop for a variety of items, from fresh produce to souvenirs. Later, we will visit the National Gems and Gemmological Museum, an educational site where you can learn about Sri Lanka’s gems. Then, we’ll head to a tea factory to discover the tea-making process. Following this, we will visit the Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens, a paradise filled with diverse plant life, including flowers and palm trees. In the evening, we’ll conclude the day with the Kandy Cultural Dance Show, showcasing a captivating performance of various Sri Lankan dance styles. Finally, you’ll have some time to explore the Kandy shopping complex before being dropped off at your hotel.
On the third day, we will travel to the charming hill city of Nuwara Eliya, located approximately 76 km from Kandy. This journey through the mountains is breathtaking, surrounded by lush greenery, waterfalls, and picturesque landscapes.
En route, we will stop at several attractions, including Ramboda Falls, the 11th tallest waterfall in Sri Lanka, standing at 109m (358ft). Next, we will visit the Damro Labookellie Tea Centre and Tea Garden, the oldest tea center in Sri Lanka, where you can enjoy a complimentary factory tour and tea tasting. We will then proceed directly to Nuwara Eliya for your overnight stay at the hotel.
Travel Time from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya:On the fourth day of your 7-day Sri Lanka honeymoon itinerary, we will tour the fascinating town of Nuwara Eliya, visiting notable locations such as Gregory Lake, where you can enjoy a relaxing picnic or a pony ride. Our next stop will be the Nuwara Eliya post office, one of the oldest post offices in Sri Lanka, featuring a unique architectural style.
After that, we will visit the Hakgala Botanical Garden, the second-largest botanical garden in the country, which boasts various sections, including the rock garden, water garden, fern garden, Japanese garden, and seed room. Finally, we will explore the Seetha Amman Temple, known for its black soil surrounding the area, which is believed to have been scorched by Lord Hanuman. These sites are rich in intriguing stories and offer stunning views. After visiting these locations, we will return to the hotel.
On the fifth day, we will journey to the Bentota Beach Hotel. Along the way, we will visit several sites, including St. Clair’s Falls, known as the Little Niagara of Sri Lanka, and Devon Falls, named after a pioneering English coffee planter who owned a nearby plantation. If you prefer, you can also go white-water rafting in Kithulgala. This scenic journey takes you from the northern hills to the southern coastline, culminating at your Bentota beach hotel for an overnight stay.
Travel Time from Nuwara Eliya to Bentota:On the sixth day, we will embark on a round trip to Galle. The day begins with a boat ride along the stunning Madu River in Balapitiya. The river winds through a landscape dotted with numerous islands, forming a beautiful wetland ecosystem. Afterward, we will visit the Sea Turtle Hatchery Farm in Galle, dedicated to enhancing the survival of baby turtles. A guide will provide you with an informative tour of the facility.
Following our time at the hatchery, we will explore Galle town, including the historic Galle Fort, built by the Portuguese in 1588, which now serves as a site of historical, archaeological, and architectural significance. Finally, we will return to the Bentota hotel for dinner and overnight accommodations.
