Tour Plan

Day 1 – Arrival and Hotel Check-in in Kandy

Upon your arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a representative from Ceylon Waves. You will then embark on your journey to Kandy, making a stop at the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. Established in 1975 by the Sri Lanka Department of Wildlife Conservation, this sanctuary cares for orphaned elephants. The best time to visit is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., when you can witness the elephants being fed and bathed in the nearby river.



Day 2 – Kandy to Sigiriya and Return

On your second day, you will travel to the ancient city of Sigiriya. Your first stop will be the Muthumariamman Temple in Matale, dedicated to the goddess of rain and fertility. Next, you will explore a Matale spice garden where you'll learn about various spices used in cooking and cosmetics. Following that, visit the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site,and then head to the Dambulla Cave Temple, known for its impressive murals and statues.After a day filled with history, you will return to Kandy for the night



Day 3 – Kandy to Nuwara Eliya

Day three takes you to Nuwara Eliya, a picturesque town in the Central Highlands, located 76 kilometers from Kandy. After breakfast, visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa), a significant site for Buddhists worldwide. Next, explore the National Gems and Gemmological Museum, followed by a stroll around Kandy Lake. You will then visit the Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens, home to over 4,000 plant species. Lastly, stop at the Ramboda Falls before heading directly to Nuwara Eliya for an overnight stay.



Day 4 – Nuwara Eliya to Ella

On your fourth day, journey to Ella, a charming village in the mountains. Along the way, stop at Gregory Lake for a pony ride and lunch. Visit the Nuwara Eliya Post Office, one of the oldest in Sri Lanka, and the Seetha Amman Temple in Sita Eliya, significant in Sri Lankan Ramayana folklore. After that, board the train at Nanu Oya Railway Station< for a scenic ride to Ella, known for its breathtaking views of tea plantations and lush landscapes. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your accommodation.



Day 5 – Ella to Tissamaharama

This day starts with a visit to the Nine Arch Bridge, a stunning colonial-era structure. Next, hike to Little Adam’s Peak, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding tea plantations. En route to Yala National Park, stop by the Ravana Falls, a spectacular waterfall linked to local mythology. In the afternoon, embark on a thrilling safari at Yala, Sri Lanka's second-largest national park, known for its diverse wildlife. After an adventurous day, you willhead to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.



Day 6 – Tissamaharama to Mirissa

On day six, you will travel to Mirissa. First, visit Coconut Tree Hill, a popular viewpoint offering stunning views of the beach. Afterward, explore the local fish market and harbor, where you can see fishermen at work. Take some time to wander the charming town before settling into your accommodation for the evening.



Day 7 – Mirissa to Bentota

Day seven is dedicated to a thrilling whale-watching tour in Mirissa, one of the best places tospot various species of whales and dolphins. After this incredible experience, you will head towards Bentota, making a stop in Galle to visit the historic Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then, visit the Turtle Hatchery Farm learn about conservation efforts for baby turtles. Laxstly, enjoy a boating excursion on the Madu River, surrounded by lush mangroves,before reaching your hotel for the night.



Day 8 – Departure

On your final day, you will be picked up from your hotel and transported back to Colombo or the airport in time for your flight home. You will depart with wonderful memories from your incredible journey organized by Ceylon Waves
